If you were an avid follower of the YouTube beauty community back in the 2010s, you’d definitely know who is Jeffree Star.
He’s known for his makeup brand Jeffree Star Cosmetics and for having beef with other beauty influencers.

Remember the 2019 Tati vs James Charles saga? Yeah, he somehow got involved in it too.
Anyway, he’s also been on the For You Page (FYP) of many TikTok users in Singapore, after making an interesting statement about the country.
Which is that we have one of the best (if not the best) McDonald’s.

He said this as a guest on the Apr. 5 episode of Barstool Sports’ podcast series, Chicks in the Office.
When one of the hosts asked what country has the best Taco Bell, Jeffree replied: “I want to say… I’ve been to so many places, mostly like McDonald’s… I would say Singapore.”
His answer surprised the hosts who questioned: “Really?”
However, the influencer didn’t convince them by explaining how good a McSpicy is, or marvelled at the fact that our McFlurry machines can actually dispense ice cream (which apparently is always out of service in the US).
Instead, he went on to praise Singapore for being “one of the cleanest countries”.
“There’s not one speck of dirt in that country. It’s beautiful,” he said.
25 years in jail for littering, he said
Jeffree also told the hosts about Singapore’s infamous rules about littering and chewing gum (although he did exaggerate some of the details).
“If you litter, it’s 25 years in jail,” he claimed.
Littering is bad, but not serious enough to put you behind bars.
According to the Environmental Public Health Act 1987, the maximum fine for a littering offence is S$2,000 on first conviction.
Offenders may also be sentenced to perform corrective work orders.
“It’s crazy, if you throw a piece of gum on the ground—full prison.”
Also not true.
It is not illegal to chew gum in Singapore, but the importation of chewing gum into Singapore is prohibited.
There are some exceptions but if found guilty, first-time offenders can be fined up to S$100,000, imprisoned for a term not exceeding two years, or both.
Singapore has Taco Bell?

Fun fact: Singapore used to have Taco Bell outlets in Singapore up till 2008 when it exited the market. Sad.
