We’re not starting a cult but some followers on Instagram would be nice. Thank you.

For the past five days, I’ve had to remind myself to write (or type) 2023, and not 2022.

As if I needed another reminder that I am a year older, I found out that some of my heavy rotations on Spotify have turned 20 years old.

20 years ago in 2003, the cool kids were wearing low-rise jeans and listening to music on iPods. I was learning to use the toilet.

Here are 20 songs that turn 20 in 2023.

Special mention: Hollywood by Madonna

Release date: July 3, 2003

This is also the same song that Madonna and Britney performed at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.

Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliot shared the same stage with the duo as well, but were quickly overshadowed when Madonna and Britney infamously kissed on stage.

Iconic.
